Mexico to face Brazil at Texas A&M’s iconic Kyle Field

Soccer powerhouses could set attendance record

Mexico and Brazil, two of the most popular national soccer teams in the Americas, are set to face off at iconic Kyle Field. The Mexican men’s national soccer team will face the five-time FIFA World Cup champions on June 8 on the Texas A&M campus.

With a capacity of 102,733, Kyle Field is home to Texas A&M’s 12th Man. Kyle Field is famous for producing one of the best environments in college football.

Now, Kyle Field, which opened in 1905, will host an international soccer match for the first time.

“Kyle Field — a beacon of collegiate sporting excellence — is more than a football stadium,” Texas A&M President Mark A. Welsh III. “It’s a special place where memories are made and legends are born. It creates an electric atmosphere that fuels players and fans alike.

“We in Aggieland are ready to welcome the Brazil and Mexico teams and their fans with a warm ‘Howdy!’ this summer for what promises to be an unforgettable experience for all.”

Potential record at Kyle Field

Mexico and Brazil will play the friendly match as a tune-up ahead of the CONMEBOL Copa America, which is the South American championship. The U.S. and Mexican national teams have been invited to compete in Copa America this year while it is played throughout the United States.
