Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny set for NFL's signature event
Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny is headed to the Super Bowl. The three-time GRAMMY Award winner and the NFL announced that he will perform the halftime show at Super Bowl LX.
“I’ve been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I’ll do just one date in the United States,” Bad Bunny teased on social media platform X before the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced the performance late Sunday night.
Super Bowl LX will be held at the San Francisco 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Feb. 8, 2026. Bad Bunny, whose given name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is arguably the most popular Latin American artist at this time.
He’s a proud native of Puerto Rico, where he recently held a popular concert series. He held the tour in Puerto Rico to draw attention and business to his beloved island.
‘Tell your abuela’
“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” Bad Bunny said via a statement. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown. …
“This is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.” (Go tell your grandma that we’ll be the HALFTIME SHOW OF THE SUPER BOWL)
DPS will produce and Hamish Hamilton will direct the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show telecast on NBC. Roc Nation, which is rapper “JAY-Z” Carter’s agency, and Jesse Collins will serve as executive producers.

Bad Bunny is no stranger to major American sports. In 2023 he founded a sports agency, Rimas Sports, which represents several Major League Baseball stars, including Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr. He also had a popular concert tour throughout MLB ballparks in 2022.
‘Truly inspiring’
“What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring,” Carter said. “We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”
More than 40 Latinos play in the NFL. San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner is arguably the top Latino in the NFL. Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco, who has Puerto Rican roots on one side of his family, has played in the last three Super Bowls, winning his first two appearances.
