Randy Arozarena says Cal Raleigh can shove it
HOUSTON – Randy Arozarena, one of the feel-good stories of the last two World Baseball Classics, used Cuban and Mexican versions of the same expletive while ripping Seattle teammate Cal Raleigh after Team USA beat Mexico 5-3 at Daikin Park.
Arozarena was snubbed yet again by an American catcher in the WBC, prompting him to say that Raleigh can stick his greeting where the sun doesn’t shine. Three years after Will Smith snubbed him, Arozarena tried to greet Raleigh with a fist bump or hand shake before his first at-bat Monday night.
Arozarena, a Cuban native who represents Mexico, was surprised when Raleigh left him hanging. At one point, he leaned toward his crouching Mariners teammate to see why he wasn’t shaking his hand.
According to Arozarena, Raleigh said, “Good to see you.” That clearly wasn’t enough for Arozarena.
“The ‘good to see you’ that he told me,” Arozarena said while switching back to Spanish, “he can stick it in his (behind).”

Those weren’t even the harshest comments Arozarena made although he began his comments by praising Raleigh’s parents.
When asked about the snub, Arozarena prefaced his harsh comments by saying Raleigh was raised right and had good education. Arozarena said he visited with Raleigh’s parents at the team hotel two days earlier.

“The first thing he needs to do is thank God he has good parents,” Arozarena said. “His parents are very well educated. Thank God, I was able to see them at the hotel. They greeted me and hugged me and were proud of me to be able to see me again.”
After praising Raleigh’s parents, Arozarena offered a bittersweet smile.
“The rest I want to say in the Cuban way,” he said in Spanish. “What he needs to do is go to the (expletive word for penis). In the Mexican way to say it, he can go to the (Mexican dialect insult for penis). And now I’ll say it in English, the ‘good to see you’ that he told me, he can stick it up his (behind).”
Arozarena then walked away.
