2021 Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Top 50 Relief Pitchers
Looking for comprehensive 2021 Fantasy Baseball rankings? Look no further, here are the top 100 relief pitchers in MLB.
With Opening Day a little more than a week away, fans are ramping up their research for the upcoming MLB season. Before then, Our Esquina has dropping its 2021 Fantasy Baseball Rankings by position, including updates, every day until the first pitch of the regular season is thrown.
Today, we’re going to rank the league’s top 50 relief pitchers. Relief pitching in fantasy baseball is a blessing and a curse. While you can generate a lot of points with an elite closer, a bad performance can yield plenty of negative points in a brief period. Stick to the elites, if you can.
NOTE: Because these rankings are determined by aggregating projection stats, some players are ranked much lower than you might expect. For example…
- Brad Hand, WSN (Not Ranked) – You might be wondering why Hand isn’t ranked on this list. Especially after coming off of his best big league season. The truth is that Hand should be ranked and would be a very good pick for any time. Projections have him regressing some in Washington, but don’t be surprised if he continues to dominate.
- Mark Melancon, SDP (Not Ranked) – Melancon has been one of the best relievers of this generation. As he approaches age 36, however, projections are expecting a steep decline in the coming years. Assess his performance early on and then use him as a streamer, if needed. Be careful if you do because a bad performance could derail your week.
Before we begin, remember that these rankings are for head-to-head (H2H) leagues. Determinations were made by aggregating all projection stats, which can be found on FanGraphs.
