Kathleen Ortiz
Kathleen Maria Ortiz is a freshman at Rice University. While at Kingwood Park High School, she was honored as the runner-up for the Texas High School Journalist of the Year Award. Ortiz was the Editor-in-Chief of the Kingwood Park Times. She won more than 90 national and Texas awards for her writing and photography.
She was a student member of the national advisory board for Quill & Scroll, the international journalism honor society. Ortiz, a Scripps Howard Foundation emerging journalist, is was a four-year letterman and captain of the Kingwood Park women’s soccer team.
