FSU’s Isa Torres leads Latinas to watch in College Softball

Isa Torres has been on a tear in 2025

Nine games into the college softball season, Isa Torres already has three home runs and 18 RBIs. The Florida State sophomore has wasted no time building off a sensational freshman season. She and Duke’s Aminah Vega give the ACC arguably the top two Latinas in college softball this season.

Torres, a slick-fielding shortstop who is hitting an amazing .529 so far this season, leads Our Esquina’s Latinas to watch in college softball in 2025. The sophomore from Georgetown, Texas, is one of the best leadoff hitters in college softball.

Isa Torres was selected to D1Softball and Softball America’s Preseason All-American teams. She started 61 of the Seminoles’ 62 games last season as a freshman.

Grand Time for Isa Torres

At 5-foot-6, Isa Torres carries plenty of pop. She hit nine home runs and drove in 57 runs last season for the Seminoles. Torres finished her freshman season with a .356 batting average, which was the third best on the team.

Torres was a DI Softball Freshman All-American, an All-ACC Second Team Selection and an ACC All-Tournament Team pick in 2024.

Duke second baseman Aminah Vega was selected to D1Softball and Softball America’s Preseason All-American teams. Vega hit .369 with 12 home runs as a junior last year for Duke. She also had a .933 fielding percentage.

Megan Delgadillo finds new home

Oklahoma State utility player Megan Delgadillo was a second-team selection for the D1Softball and Softball America’s Preseason All-American teams.

Delgadillo joined Oklahoma State as a graduate transfer after a stellar career at Cal State Fullerton. The speedy outfielder stole a  Big West Conference record 151 bases over her career at Cal State Fullerton.

Texas pitcher Citlaly Gutierrez, an All Big 12 First-Team selection as a sophomore, is one of the best pitchers in college softball. She is a preseason All-SEC selection for the No. 1 team in the country. Gutierrez was 11-2 with a 2.03 ERA in 23 appearances as a sophomore.

Washington sophomore infielder Giselle Alvarez, a Pac 12 All-Freshman Team selection last year, led the Huskies last year with a .343 batting average. She hit three home runs and had 11 RBIs over 36 games last year.

San Diego State senior lefthander Dee Dee Hernandez is one of the best pitchers in the Mountain West Conference. She made most of her appearance out of the bullpen last year while posting a 10-4 record with a team-best 2.65 ERA over 74 innings.

Hernandez was an All-Mountain West First Team selection in 2024 and a preseason All-Mountain West selection this year.
