Xavier Restrepo climbs Miami record books
Xavier Restrepo highlights recap of Latinos in college football
Xavier Restrepo is in elite company at a university where the standard for wide receivers is high. When one thinks about the University of Miami’s rich football history, especially in terms of receivers, the list of legends is long.
Hall of Famers Michael Irvin and Andre Johnson played for The U. Santana Moss and Reggie Wayne also tormented defensive backs while starring at Miami. None of those greats, however, collected more than 100-yard receiving games than Xavier Restrepo.
Restrepo, a fifth-year senior from Coconut Creak, Fla., became the first Miami wide receiver to have 10 career 100-yard receiving games. The 5-foot-10, 198-pounder had seven receptions for 101 yards and one touchdown to lead undefeated Miami over Louisville.
He had a 63-yard reception and a nine-yard touchdown while climbing to third on Miami’s all-time receptions list. Restrepo has 39 receptions for 686 yards and a career-high-tying six touchdowns this season.

There’s no denying that the name Xavier Restrepo belongs among Miami’s great receivers. For his efforts against Louisville, he’s Our Esquina’s Latino Player of the Week.
