Devin Sanchez lands at Ohio State
Texas A&M signed a pair of top Latino football recruits Wednesday. Los Angeles rivals UCLA and USC each signed a pair of Latinos as well. That’s how deep the Latino football talent is in the Class of 2025, which is led by Houston North Shore superstar defensive back Devin Sanchez.
The depth of Latino high school football talent was on full display Wednesday during the start of the early signing period in college football. Our Esquina tracked many of the top Latino football signings.
Sanchez, the top Latino high school football player in America, is headed to Ohio State. He is ranked among the top 2 players in Texas in the Class of 2025, and among the Top 6 in the country by 247 Sports.
While Big Ten power Ohio State landed the top Latino star in the Class of 2025, Texas A&M landed two Latino stars. Offensive lineman Marcus Garcia of Denton (Texas) Ryan High and edge/linebacker Marco Jones of San Ramon High in Dublin, Calif., signed with the Aggies.
Elijah Melendez adds pop to Auburn
Linebacker Elijah Melendez, who signed with Auburn, is arguably the second best Latino football prospect in this class. The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder from Osceola (Kissimmee, Fla.) is rated the No. 4 best inside linebacker in the Class of 2025.
Michael “Butter” Tollefson signed with Arizona State. The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder is one of the best quarterbacks on the West Coast. Los Alamitos (Calif.) quarterback Alonzo Esparza signed with Cal.
Tight end Jacob Alvarez will stay close to home. The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder from Chaparral High (Temecula, Calif.) signed with San Diego State.

Tight end Noah Flores, the No. 4 ranked prospect in Washington, is staying on the West Coast. He signed with UCLA. Defensive back LaRue Zamorano III of Centennial (Corona, Calif.) is also headed to Westwood. The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder signed with UCLA.
Offensive lineman Jake Flores, a 6-foot-6, 270-pound grinder from Serra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) signed with Washington.
Aquinas (San Bernardino, Calif.) safety JoJo Solis signed with Sacramento State. Wide receiver Jaden Perez signed with Oklahoma State. The speedster from Claudia Taylor Johnson High in San Antonio is 5-foot-11, 165 pounds.
USC landed a pair of Latino defensive stars in Trestin Castro and Gus Cordova. Castro is a 6-foot-1 defensive back from Upland, Calif. Cordova is a 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive lineman from Lake Travis, Texas.
Miami of Ohio landed the signature of defensive lineman Carmine Orozco, a 6-foot-4, 272-pounder from Mishawaka, Ind.
