What’s The Next Move For The Astros?

  • December 18, 2024

As the wave of the Kyle Tucker trade settles, the Houston Astros seek to add more assets to their team. The Astros were able to address some of their needs by trading Tucker, however there are still some gaps that need to be filled if Houston wants to contend for another World Series title.

Astros are ‘serious suitors’ for Nolan Arenado

The Astros have been in contact with the St. Louis Cardinals in regard to the availability of 10-time Gold Glove winner Nolan Arenado. Full Seam Ahead hosts Lorenzo Delgado and Angel Cantu voice their opinion on the move, and Zo shares some stats about Arenado that makes this move promising.

Nevertheless, before the Arenado trade gains more traction, the Astros are still pursuing Gold Glover Alex Bregman. The boys discuss which third baseman makes more sense for Houston.

Can Houston win the AL West as of today?

Zo and Cantu rate and discuss the current state of Houston’s starting rotation and lineup. Then they answer the daunting question about the Astros odds to win the AL West. What are the Astros missing? Do they need a left-handed power bat? Who will you agree with?

Furthermore, there are still some big free-agent names on the market. Outfielders Anthony Santander and Teoscar Hernandez. First baseman Christian Walker and Carlos Santana. What scenario works best for Houston? Trade for Arenado and focus on an outfielder? Sign Bregman and add an outfielder? Let Paredes play third and sign a first baseman and outfielder? Tune in for another fabulous episode of Full Seam Ahead.
