The Astros leave an ugly grimace on the Mets

  • June 30, 2024

The Houston Astros won their fifth consecutive series against the red hot New York Mets. The Astros are 9-1 in their last 10 games, and move their record to 42-41 before July 1.

Full Seam Ahead host Lorenzo Delgado starts the show recapping the Mets series. The Astros’ offense struggled with runners in scoring position (RISP). The Astros were 2-for-14 with RISP and 14 left on base in Game 1. The Astros defense had multiple defensive miscues through the series, such as miscommunication and fielding the ball cleanly. The ‘Stros offense continued to pass the baton to the next player through the order. They muscled back and score nine runs in Game 2, and 10 runs in Game 3.

What a month of June for the Astros. They finished with the best MLB record in June with a 17-8 record. They’re over .500 for the first time this season. What has contributed to their success this month? Starting pitching? Bullpen? Offense? One player? Delgado shares his thoughts on the team’s success.

The guys can’t forget the Carne Asada as they highlight the players of the series. Tune in to the pitching preview segment as the Astros travel across the border and take on the Toronto Blue Jays.
