
Bring on the Blitz: Super Bowl recap and Texans’ reinforcements
Before Carlos and the boys welcomed Texans talk, they gave their thoughts on the Super Bowl.
The road to the Chief’s three-peat came to an abrupt end at the hands of the Eagles at Super Bowl LIX. The Eagle’s defense was too much for the two-time MVP Patrick Mahomes to handle. The trio of Carlos, Rios, and Papi delve into why the Chiefs were not able to achieve the coveted three-peat victory.
Eagles too much for Chiefs
First, the guys examine how the Chiefs were able to contain Eagles’ running back Saquon Barkley. Barkley rushed for 57 yards and no touchdowns. The Chiefs defense was no match for quarterback Jalen Hurts. Hurts completed 17 of 22 pass attempts for 221 yards and three touchdowns, he rushed for one.
In addition, the trio will analyze how Vic Fangio’s elite defense stifled the Chiefs’ offense for three consecutive quarters. Mahomes finished the game completing 21 of 32 attempts for 257 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. the boys analyze the Eagles’ use of Cover 4 defense and its crucial role in limiting the Chiefs’ offense.
Texans’ needs
Moreover, the guys address the stacked tight end group in this year’s NFL draft. Tight ends will help NFL tams improve their offense. One tight end in particular is Miami’s standout Elijah Arroyo, who turned heads in the Senior Bowl. Arroyo ended his finals season with the Hurricanes 35 receptions for 590 yards and seven touchdowns.
Lastly, with offense coordinator Nick Caley, the guys go over how he could bolster the Texans’ offensive line along with the rest of the offense. Will the Texans trade up or down on the draft?
