Astros trade Ryan Pressly
The Astros hosted Fan Fest this Saturday. An event that allows the fans to connect with the players and get introduced to new Astros’ players. However, during the media portion of Fan Fest Jose Altuve and other teammates expressed the importance of a reunion of All-Star third baseman Alex Bregman
Door is cracked
Astros general manager Dana Brown stated the door was cracked but it was a long shot to re-sign Bregman. Brown stated that increasing payroll was a factor in this decision. He continued stating there weren’t many players that they could shed payroll with. Nonetheless, they were eyeing every opportunity to bring back Bregman.
“We will never close the door on any free agent particularly when it can make the team better,” Dana Brown said. “So we’re treating (Alex Bregman) like we would treat any other free agent.”
A day later the Astros traded two-time All-Star Ryan Pressly to the Chicago Cubs for RHP prospect Juan Bello. The Cubs will pay $8.5 million of the $14 million owed to Pressly. With the trade, Houston saved $5.5 million. Which could be used by Houston to either re-sign Bregman or add another free agent.

Altuve in the outfield
The 2022 World Series Champions added Isaac Paredes and Christian Walker to recover from the departure of Bregman. So bringing back the 2019 All-Star Game MVP will lead to overcrowded infield. However, Jose Altuve volunteered to move to the outfield to accommodate his former teammate.
Even though the 2017 American League MVP has never played outfield, he is willing to move. The boys give their takes about the Altuve outfield experiment.
Altuve has definitely given the Astros much to think about. Will the voice of the Astros franchise player be enough to persuade Jim Crane and Brown to re-sign Bregman. The boys gave their opinion on the matter on the current episode of Full Seam Ahead.
