Astros sweep at the Trop

The Houston Astros are the hottest team in baseball. The Astros brought out the brooms and sweep the Tampa Bay Rays in a three-game series at Tropicana Field. Moreover, the ‘Stros are riding an eight-game winning streak and lead the American League West division by 2 1/2 games.

Full Seam Ahead hosts Lorenzo Delgado and Angel Cantu recap the Rays. Astros third baseman Alex Bregman recently was awarded AL Co-Player of the Week with teammate Yordan Alvarez. The Astros’ starting pitching was exceptional in this series. Dominican southpaw Framber Valdez continues to have a fantastic second half. Yusei Kikuchi has a 2.70 ERA in his three starts as an Astro. Lastly, Ronel Blanco pitched six scoreless innings for the first time since July 14.

Rookie Zach Dezenzo was seen taking fungo in left field, while catcher Yainer Diaz made his first start at first base this season. Is there a possibility Dezenzo will play some left field this year?
