Astros Slither Through The Snakes
After failing to muster much offense against the Reds, the Astros bounced back to take the series from the contending Diamondbacks. The Astros’ offense scored 25 runs in the three game set in Houston to hold on to a slim 4.5 lead in the American League West.
Latino All-Stars Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez powered the offense. Alvarez slammed a pair of three-run home runs Friday night. His league leading seventh multi-home run game ties former Astro Chris Carter for the franchise record. Altuve tallied eight hits this series, including back-to-back three-hit games. During his five-game hitting streak, the 2017 MVP raised his batting average above .300. The boys also take a deep dive into the resurgence of Chas McCormick.
