Astros flying high out of Anaheim
The Astros secured their 5,000 win, Friday night against the Angels. They became the 18th team in MLB history to reach that feat. Houston added two more wins as they swept the Angels.
The Astros feel comfortable in Anaheim winning nine of their last 11 games at Angel Stadium. Extraordinary performances by Yusei Kikuchi, Ronel Blanco and Yordan Alvarez carried Houston past the Halos. After not surpassing three innings in his last outing, Justin Verlander turned it around and pitched five solid innings. The ‘Stros defense aided Verlander. Spectacular catches made by Jake Meyers, Mauricio Dubon, and Ben Gamel proved to be the difference in the Astros 5-3 victory.
