Sydney Ortiz

Sydney Irene Ortiz, an award-winning writer and photographer, is a sophomore at Kingwood Park High. In 2024, she became the first freshman in Kingwood Park history to be named a Texas UIL All-State Journalist.
Ortiz is the sports editor of the Kingwood Park Times and an All-District defender on the Panthers\’ varsity soccer team.
Among the 19 state and national writing and photography awards she won in the 2023-2024 school year, Ortiz earned honorable mention in the National Scholastic Press Association review writing competition and first place in slideshows in the Quill & Scroll competition.
