Jamal Roberts, Nicholas Rodriguez lead Mizzou past Aggies
Mizzou linebacker Nicholas Rodriguez had 13 tackles
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri running back Jamal Roberts asserted his dominance on the ground Saturday afternoon, and linebacker Nicholas Rodriguez did the same on defense against Texas A&M.
Roberts recorded the best performance of his career with 222 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries.
“Jamal, I’ma say it, he’s the best back in the nation,” Rodriguez said.
With a loud sellout crowd of 63,609 chanting “M-I-Z” at Memorial Stadium, Roberts led No.14 Missouri over Texas A&M 27-6.
The Aggies had stolen the last four games against Missouri, but the Tigers got their way on Saturday.
Jamal Roberts rumbles

“It’s just playing physical football, playing our game up front, like the Mizzou Football way,” Roberts said.”Eventually they’re gonna give up.”
Roberts capped the scoring in the fourth quarter with a 54-yard touchdown with 2:49 to play, setting off a wild celebration in the end zone and the stands.
The Tigers (5-1, 2-1 in the SEC) left Faurot Field with another dominant victory after upsetting Florida the week before.

The Aggies (3-3, 1-3 in the SEC) did not put up the performance they wanted. Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed completed only 19 of 39 passes for 189 yards while being intercepted twice.
The Tigers’ secondary and defensive front applied consistent pressure, sacking Reed three times. Missouri tore apart the Aggies’ run game as well. Rodriguez, a junior captain, had 13 tackles (8 solo).

Rodriguez leads the SEC with 63 tackles, proving why he is the highest rated linebacker according to Pro Football Focus (PFF).
David Olano provides A&M offense
The game featured two of the top Latinos players in college football – Rodriguez and Texas A&M kicker David Olano. Olano was the only Aggie to score against Missouri.
He was successful with his two field goal attempts, drilling a 53-yarder and another from 27 yards.
“It wasn’t pretty at times. But that’s an old-fashioned SEC game right there,” Mizzou coach Eli Drinkwitz said. “I knew matchup wise they were really good on defense and really good on offense.
“Their front, they’re old-school SEC football. I knew it was going to be a hard-fought game, especially how dinged up we were. I was really, really impressed with our defense.”
