Miami receiver Xavier Restrepo adds another record

Xavier Restrepo highlights Latinos in College Football in Week 10

Miami receiver Xavier Restrepo had the game of his career against Duke, burning Duke repeatedly while also climbing to the top of the Hurricanes’ record book. The name Xavier Restrepo is now ahead of Reggie Wayne and Santana Moss in the Hurricanes’ record book.

The 5-foot-10, 198-pounder had eight receptions for 146 yards and a career-high three touchdowns in the Hurricanes’ dominant 53-31 victory. Restrepo, who had a 66-yard reception in the victory, broke Moss’ Miami career record for receiving yards.

He now has 182 receptions and 2,573 career receiving yards. Moss set the record with 2,547 yards during his illustrious career.

“I have no words for it,” he told the Miami media. “God’s just amazing. God’s great. He is the greatest. He’s the creator and there’s nothing else to say.

“It’s just so crazy that I’m now at the top of that list, you know? Speaking about it, imagining it and then doing it are different things, you know? I’m just super grateful that I got this opportunity with an amazing team.”

Many of the Hurricanes’ legendary receivers have praised Restrepo. Heading into Saturday, Wayne was second on Miami’s all-time career receiving yards list with 2,510 yards. By the time Restrepo was done, Wayne sat at third all-time on the Hurricanes’ list.

“Well done champ,” Wayne posted on X. “Keep Going… Let me see if I have some eligibility left.”

Junior tight end Elijah Arroyo had one reception for 11 yards. Running back Damien Martinez had 11 carries for 66 yards for the Hurricanes. The junior from Lewisville, Texas is averaging almost six yards per carry.
